No-Cost Limited OB Ultrasounds
In addition to a positive pregnancy test result, it is important to medically confirm your pregnancy with an ultrasound. LifeClinic provides free ultrasound procedures at each of our three locations.
How do ultrasounds work?
Ultrasounds are a form of medical imaging. A scanner produces high-frequency, inaudible sound waves that show an image of what’s going on inside the body. Ultrasounds are completely safe for you and your baby.
Why do I need an ultrasound?
Ultrasounds answer three vital questions regarding your body and your health:
Where is my pregnancy located?
Although rare, a fertilized egg can implant itself somewhere other than the uterus. This is called an ectopic pregnancy. When an egg implants in a fallopian tube, this may also be referred to as a tubal pregnancy. An ectopic pregnancy is a dangerous medical condition requiring immediate attention.
Is there a fetal heartbeat?
For any number of reasons, 1 in 4 pregnancies end naturally in miscarriage. Ultrasounds determine whether or not there is a heartbeat. If there is no heartbeat and the pregnancy is at least 6 weeks along, miscarriage is possible and medical attention is recommended.
How many weeks pregnant am I?
An ultrasound is the most accurate option to determine the gestational age of your baby and estimated due date.
What if I don’t have insurance?
