Am I pregnant?
Pregnancy affects each woman differently, so there is no one symptom that indicates pregnancy. However, if you’ve been sexually active and are experiencing any of these symptoms, it might be time to schedule an appointment for pregnancy testing.
Common early pregnancy symptoms include:
- Missed period
- Frequent urination
- Tender or swollen breasts
- Fatigue
- Food cravings or aversions
- Nausea or vomiting
- Headaches
- Backaches
How soon can I take a pregnancy test?
If you’ve missed your period and have been sexually active, it’s time to take a pregnancy test. At each of our locations, we provide lab-quality urine pregnancy testing at no cost to you. The pregnancy test will check for a hormone called hCG that is produced by the developing placenta during pregnancy. In a normal pregnancy, hCG can be detected in the urine as early as 7-10 days after conception.
I’ve taken an at-home test, what should happen next?
While the technology of home pregnancy tests has advanced over the years, there is still the possibility that you could be given a false result. Even if you have taken a home test, we recommend you come in for our lab-quality pregnancy testing services. We have the capability to offer you medically accurate testing at each of our locations.
What can I expect during my appointment?
We are here to provide confidential services and medically-accurate information about your pregnancy or pregnancy symptoms. Your appointment will last approximately 1 hour. You will meet with a nurse to discuss your health history and any questions you might have. You will be provided with the pregnancy test results and given information on the medical and community resources that you need before the end of your appointment.
(All three of our LifeClinic locations offer lab-quality pregnancy testing services completely free of charge.) Schedule your appointment with us today to receive the quality care you deserve.
